The Bar of the Bruges' Campus (College of Europe) is named "U No where" (and not "U Know Where") and is situated at Gouden Handstraat (in the basement of one of the 7 residences of the College).

Each residence shall elect, at the beginning of the year, 2 representatives who are organising bar activities. All together, they form the Bar Commitee of the College.

Every Thursday night the residence of Gouden Hand comes alive with the sounds of music and merriment at the student bar, named U NO WHERE. To keep the party spirit flowing throughout the year there are theme nights such as Halloween, traffic light, Elvis, Arabian Nights, nudist night and Eurovision Song contest, etc. The parties officially start at 10pm and close at 1am. However - to Gilles’ regret - people only show up after 11.30pm, and – to the neighbours’ regret – the bar seldom closes before 3am.

The U NO WHERE Committee - ”the fabulous six” – are: 

President	Bärbel CARL (Germany)	Barbel is a very well liked and respected member of the College community. It is she who has daily, if not hourly, contact with the College administration and Sodexho about the running of the bar and drinks orders. She is also the one who is liable for the behaviour of the rest of the committee, especially Pedro, who suggested that the fab six should run off to the Canary Islands with all the money.
Head of Public Relations Division	Giles CHAPPELL (UK)	Giles is the man in charge of informing students about the bar, i.e. he writes the exuberant e-mails. He is also in charge of the rota system for the bar / DJ. He has been described in some circles as the ’’enforcer’’ since he has repeatedly threatened to sack DJs who dare to play music after 1 am. And finally, Gilles had to report to the police after there were complaints by the neighbours about the noise in the bar.
Chancellor of the Exchequor	Lars Volck MADSEN (Denmark)	This is the bloke who is in charge of the finances. He is from a country known for its transparency and money management skills. But that only goes for the public sector – not for private parties! Lars cannot be contacted for any purposes.
Bar manager	Ina KADLEC (Austria)	This young lady is in charge of special drinks orders and the décor. She makes sure that all the people working behind the bar are the people on the list, and anybody who is not….gets a big slap in the face from her! Normally however she can be spotted by her wonderful smile, and will be happy to serve you anything, as long as you remember to pay!
Chief Coordinator	Pedro RODRIGUES DE GOUVEIA E MELO (Portugal)	Is in charge of theme nights and drinks promotions. For any problems and suggestions Pedro is the man. This does not however include problems concerning your emotional state, but only about the variety of liquor. Pedro is also the person who steps in when the rest of bar committee start arguing with each other.
Chief DJ	Florent SAINT-MARTIN (France)	We are very fortunate to have one of France's most well known and respected DJs. This is the mec who decides the order of the DJs each night, and of course has the great music collection. If you want any requests you have to e-mail him at least one month in advance
Bar staff	Gouden Hand: Simonetta, Olympios, Piero , Giovanni, Christian A, Chris, Toby, Marie, Arnaud	Non-Gouden Hand: Soultana, Anne-Sophie, Giles (Keane), David, Yanni, Stefan, Dario , Andras, Pie, Simona, Noémi, Lauri, Andras, Chris, Giovanni
Other DJs		Gi (retro), David & Andre (house, ambiance 70s), Andras, Aspasia, Andreas, Emeline, Natassa, Philipp, Alexandro (Assistant), Chistoph (Assistant), DJe Marie.

Last informations:

• Provisionary Bar timetable (March, 27th) 

• 2nd semester: the U No Where will be open at the usual time on the usual day. However, to keep the party spirit flowing a certain amount of restructuring will take place. For instance, there will be an increase in 'theme parties'. Possible themes for next year include 60/70s night, 80s night, DJ Florent soirée speciale, and a Eurovision Song Contest Night and may be even a popstar night. So please, please bring all the fancy dress clothes you have next year. For next year is the year of the parties at the College of Europe!!!
• Student arrested by the police (01.02.2002): As some of you already know, Giles was requested to report to the police at Bruges for the recent level of noise at the U No Where. Apparently there were complaints both by the police and the people living nearby. He was informed that he should either agree to pay the fine, or suffer the consequnces - i.e. court appearance followed by a few years in prison. The second option is not really realistic as he would have to resign as public relations officer for the U No Where (although somebody from Biskjaer who has already spent a couple of years in prison when he was younger, did say last night that prison food compared postively with Sodexo food). Anyway, the fine is likely to be about 60 Euros. Giles have just spoken to the Chancellor (Lars) who said that there is probably enough money in the funds to pay for that; however it does mean that our holiday to the Canary Islands planned for Easter is probably cancelled (sorry Pedro.....). So what is the lesson that everyone should learn from this? The lesson is to turn up on time at 10.00 pm (or soon after).
